Shita Laksmi

Shita has 15 years hands on experience in thematic issues such as, transparency and accountability, open data, technologies, freedom of expressions, Internet Governance and media development. She successfully managed a regional program on technology and transparency from 2013 – 2015 (Southeast Asia Technology and Transparency Initiative). She was one of the movers and shakers in interesting initiatives, to name some, the first Open Data Challenge Jakarta Hackathon #HackJak with Jakarta Government, Indonesia Internet Governance Forum (ID-IGF) and Southeast Asia Freedom of Expressions Network (SAFENET).

Her background was in Mass Communication at the University of Indonesia then followed up with Master degree at the Ateneo de Manila University as Konrad Adenauer Center for Journalism fellow. In 2016, she is one of the Career Woman finalists, a competition held by Femina Magazine in Indonesia. From November 2014, she serves as a member of Multistakeholder Advisory Group (MAG) at the United Nations (UN) with a purpose to advise the Secretary General on the programme of the Internet Governance Forum (IGF) meetings.
