Jelen Paclarin, Executive Director, Women’s Legal and Human Rights Bureau (WLB)
WLB was established in 1990 and emerged as the first consciously feminist legal organization advocating feminist legal advocacy as a strategy for the promotion and defense of women’s human rights. The Women’s Legal and Human Rights Bureau works towards engaging institutions and organizations in feminist legal advocacy work to pursue policies and programs that uphold the rights and ensure access to justice of Filipino women, especially those in the marginalized sectors such as LBT women, women with disability, women living with HIV, migrant women, women in the context of disasters and conflict, rural and urban poor women, and indigenous peoples (IP) women.
Jelen is also a Senior Lecturer at Miriam College Foundation in Quezon City, Philippines. She teaches feminism and gender and society classes.
