Rohana Palliyaguru serves as the Manager Operations at Sri Lanka CERT|CC, the national CERT of Sri Lanka.
He is a pioneering team member of Sri Lankan CERT, having joined the team at its very inception in 2006. He has a BSc Eng (Honors) Degree in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering and an MBA in IT from the University of Moratuwa. Rohana is a GIAC Certified Incident handler, Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Computer Hacking Forensics Investigator (CHFI) and has been involved in handling and resolving many security incidents of varying flavours during his time at Sri Lanka CERT. Rohana has also been engaged in designing secure networks in Government and Private Sector, in addition to being engaged in the development of Information security policies, conducting digital forensics investigations, and has extensive experience in coordinating efforts to resolve cyber security incidents in collaboration with international CERTs and relevant law enforcement agencies.
He was a member of Lanka Government Network risk assessment and mitigation team and has played a significant role in setting up the National Certification Authority in Sri Lanka, whilst being engaged in the establishment of sector based CSIRTs to support the coordinating efforts of Sri Lanka CERT|CC.
