Tatsuya Akagawa is Deputy Director of Computer Communication Division, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) of Japan, which is the ministry responsible for Internet Policies in Japan.
He joined MIC in 2007. In 2011, he was engaged in Reconstruction following the Great East Japan Earthquake through the Use of ICT, as well as Promotion of Nation Wide Town Development through the Use of ICT.
From 2013, he was engaged in Regional Revitalization through the use of Special Zone system and other measures, in the Regional Revitalization Bureau of Cabinet Secretariat.
Since 2015, he is charge of issues with technical focus, such as Promotion of IPv6 Deployment, Promotion of Data-center Businesses, as well as Measurement and Estimation of Internet traffic in Japan.He serves as the secretariat for Study Group on Advanced Use of Internet with IPv6, organised by the MIC.
