Nighat Dad is the founder and Executive Director of the Digital Rights Foundation (DRF), Pakistan. DRF envisions a place where all people, and especially women, are able to exercise their right of expression without being threatened. They believe that a free internet with access to information and impeccable privacy policies can encourage a healthy and productive environment that would eventually help not only women, but the world at large.
Dad’s work as a lawyer and human rights activist earned her a position on Time Magazine’s list of next generation leaders in 2015. She was also the 2016 Atlantic Council Digital Freedom Award for her work.
Under her leadership, her organization has conducted several training across the country for journalists, bloggers, women human rights defenders and activists.
